The Heidelberg Cell and Liquid Biobank (CLB) specializes in the processing, storage, and provision of liquid human samples and mononuclear cells. The biobank works with fully automated storage systems and offers infrastructure of the highest technical and qualitative standard. LiCONiC AG stores liquid human samples from study participants and patients from standard care, including blood (whole blood, plasma, serum, buffy coat) and urine, in the complex, fully automated biobank. The various tube types are recorded on the picker (order picker) by 1D and 2D barcode readers and, depending on the process decision, stored or retrieved and logged in the data system. The LiCONiC Biobank is designed with redundant refrigeration and robotics to ensure a very high availability rate.
